Terms of Use

These conditions apply whenever you browse, read, or use a search function on Iredell County Criminal History. Continued use indicates that you accept all terms stated here. If you disagree with them, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a federal, North Carolina, or Iredell County government body. It and its advertising partners do not offer services for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or any other use governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The site is a records reference, not a private investigator or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Iredell County Criminal History is a private reference website with no government connection. It neither stores official records nor obtains them, conducts official checks, or files documents for visitors.

Its role is to direct readers to Iredell County record custodians, including the Sheriff's Office, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, as well as to identify outside tools that may assist personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Violate a local, state, or federal law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use content for lending, insurance, employment, or housing decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any site system
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Interfere with access or slow the service for others

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked service may not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. This restriction is especially important for the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. North Carolina law limits misuse of registry data and may impose criminal consequences. Registry access supports public safety awareness, never vigilante conduct or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Neither this website nor its advertising partners creates consumer reports, credit reports, or screening products. Iredell County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. You agree that site or linked-tool information will not be used to:

  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate a housing or rental application
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A use that requires a lawful official check must go through an authorized North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation channel or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

General descriptions of Iredell County records are not legal advice. Only a licensed North Carolina attorney can advise how a warrant, pending charge, conviction, or expunction law affects an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are offered "as is." We make no warranty that:

  • Site information will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will be uninterrupted
  • Pages will contain no bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
  • A partner's search results will be correct or comprehensive

Charges, judgments, seals, and expunctions can alter official records. Because those changes may not appear everywhere at once, nothing here should be treated as an official statement by a court, sheriff, or North Carolina agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to courts, sheriff resources, state agencies, legal organizations, and commercial search tools. Those services are outside our control. We are not responsible for their availability, fees, content, data handling, or accuracy. Their own terms govern once you leave this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, logos, and graphics on this website belong to Iredell County Criminal History or its content partners. You may not reproduce, change, distribute, or create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages arising from use of this site or reliance on information reached through it.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from demands, claims, or legal proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related costs and attorney fees.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms, and a dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court within North Carolina. The North Carolina Public Records Law governs records held by public agencies, and G.S. 132-1.4 controls public access to specified criminal investigation and arrest information. Those laws do not make this private website a government record custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the new text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or restrict site access without advance notice, at any time and for any reason.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected provision will be narrowed only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
